Entry-Level Software Developer Resume Example
Hiring managers reading a junior developer resume are not looking for ten years of experience. They want to know what you can already ship. This example of a new computer science graduate leans on two internships and a project real people use.
The person, contact details and employers are fictitious. Replace them with your own information.
Skills to highlight
- JavaScript
- React
- Node.js
- SQL
- Git
- Unit testing
What makes it work
- Treat internships as real jobs: say what you shipped to production, not just which technologies you touched.
- Add a Projects section when experience is thin; one deployed project beats a long list of languages.
- Put your target stack in the title, such as “React, Node.js”, so recruiters searching for it find you.
- Clean up GitHub before linking it: clear READMEs and recent commits matter more than the number of repos.

Why this example works
The title states the target stack without pretending to be senior. The summary says exactly what the candidate is looking for, which shows he already understands how engineering teams work. Each internship opens with something shipped and who uses it, which is the first thing a hiring manager wants to see.
The personal project proves initiative, and the GitHub link lets the reader check the code. The Minimal template has no columns or photo, so it parses cleanly in applicant tracking systems and keeps a one-page resume easy to scan.
Keywords to mirror
Applicant tracking systems and recruiters scan for these terms. Reuse the ones that appear in the job posting, word for word.

- React
- JavaScript
- Node.js
- REST API
- SQL

- Unit testing
- Code review

Mistakes to avoid for this role
- Listing every language from your coursework without saying which ones you actually use.
- Describing internships as training instead of work with results.
- Linking a GitHub profile full of unfinished class exercises.
